About the event

Approaching Chronic Pain with Mindfulness

Our thoughts and beliefs about pain and discomfort can be the source of much of the suffering associated with chronic pain.  Mindfulness is an evidence-based approach for reducing the suffering associated with chronic pain conditions.  This three-hour workshop will introduce mindfulness exercises for approaching physical sensations, thoughts, and emotions with curiosity, compassion, and non-judgment.  This workshop will include will include short educational segments, guided meditation practice, mindful movement, personal reflection, and group discussion.   Chairs, mats, cushions, blankets, and floor chairs are available for use.  You are welcome to bring your own mat and/or cushion if you have them.  You may want to bring a journal for written reflection.  Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a light jacket if you tend to get cool.  Preregistration is required.

CONTINUING EDUCATION: 3.0 hours of continuing education available for mental health providers. This workshop has been designed to comply with the CE requirements for social workers, counselors, and marriage and family therapists in the state of Idaho.  A course evaluation and certificate of completion will be provided upon completion of the workshop.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY: 100% of your registration fee will be refunded if you cancel up to one week prior to the start date of the class for which you are registered. After that date refunds will be considered on a compassionate basis only and are not guaranteed. If class is canceled by the facilitator all registration fees will be returned.
