About the event
Mindfulness and self-compassion practices are proven to promote well-being! Research has shown that mindfulness and self-compassion training can significantly improve job and life satisfaction, relationships, stress resilience, and creativity and focus. This 8-week course is based on the research and core components of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) developed by Kristin Neff and Chris Germer.
This course involves eight weekly group learning classes of 1.5 hours each, with one optional (but highly encouraged!) 4-hour retreat. Each class includes foundational, science-based information on mindfulness and self-compassion, experiential mindfulness and self-compassion exercises, reflective activities, and class discussion. By the end of this 8-week course, participants will be able to:
Understand how chronic stress impacts wellbeing.
Utilize mindfulness and self-compassion techniques as both preventative and responsive measures for coping with stress.
